The steel and reinforced concrete structures of floating docks and berths are exposed to corrosion. More intensively corrosion process takes place in the zone of variable water level.


Repair works in the variable waterline zone are performed in air-dry conditions, using patented special underwater equipment - hermetic chambers. During repairs, there is the need to use hermetic chambers with complicated sealing contours, repeating the structure profile.

Depending on environmental conditions and structure degree of damage, application of anticorrosive paint coating, installation of additional steel elements or reinforced concrete patches is carried out. When applying anticorrosive coating from the hermetic chamber, the steel surface is cleaned by abrasive-jet method, and then primer and protective coatings are applied. Used materials are thoroughly selected, have required certificates and have passed through long-term testing.
